1- Is Jesus God?
How can Jesus be God given that he lacks so many of God’s key attributes (for example, omniscience, independence, omnipotence, man not Spirit, omnipresence, unchanging, inability to be tempted), he worships and prays to God as his God, calls this God “the only God” (John 5:44, John 17:3)?
These posts provide a critical examination of the historical and biblical foundation of the Trinity doctrine, specifically focused on Jesus' deity. Could this doctrine be man-made?

Is Jesus God? Introduction
I was born into a Christian family with amazing parents. I became a Christian at 5 years old after my Dad shared the gospel with me. Do you know the gospel, the “good news” about Jesus Christ? Knowing the gospel is more important than any other truth that I share in this blog, because the gospel is the means by which God saves people from their sin and death, gives eternal life, and reconciles people with Himself. Knowing this gospel also provides necessary background to why

Is Jesus God? Part 1: Who is God? A Biblical Definition
Thousands – evens tens of thousands – of books have been written to answer this question, but here I list the main attributes, I think, of God according to the Bible. There is infinitely more that could be said, but I think this provides a solid foundation for understanding who God is based on the Bible. This foundation is essential for the rest of this blog. A. God is Spirit. John 4:24 B. God is Light. 1 John 1:5 C. God is Love. 1 John 4:8, 16 D. God is immortal

Is Jesus God? Part 2: General Background
1. The Trinity is the belief that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. They are co-equal, co-eternal, and share the same essence. These three distinct persons make up the one God, the “triune God”. Jesus has a dual nature. He is 100% God and 100% man. This is called the hypostatic union. Jesus’ human and divine nature live together in him: he is the God-man (Mathis, 2007), (Perman 2006). 2. The word “Trinity” is not in the Bible. The Bible nev

Is Jesus God? Part 3: History's Witness- Is the Trinity Doctrine true?
In Matthew 7:15-20 Jesus says, “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by

Is Jesus God? Part 4: A God of Logic
This section demonstrates that God is inherently logical and that we should study theology using logic. Affirming that God is logical is essential for determining if God has told us that Jesus is God and God is 3 in 1. “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord.” (Isaiah 1:18) God calls people to reason with Him. This shows that being reasonable is part of who God is, and He invites us to be reasonable and logical ourselves in how we converse with Him. “Teacher, which i

Is Jesus God? Part 5: What about Jesus worship?
The first instance of Jesus worship is in Matthew 2:2 "Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.’” This was said by the Magi in their pursuit of finding Jesus, king of the Jews. This is the first of many instances in the New Testament of apparent Jesus worship (see also Matthew 2:8, 11, John 9, Matthew 14:26-33, Matthew 28:9, 17, Luke 24:52, John 9:38, Revelation 5). Is Jesus God? Part 8: Scripture in Context- John
This post examines the gospel of John, and Part 8 examines 1 John and Revelation. These books were all written by the same author: John, so consider all of them together in thinking about if John believed that Jesus was God. Many claim that John’s gospel, John, clearly shows that Jesus was God, more than any of the other gospels or books in the Bible. If John really believed Jesus was God, that belief would be consistent throughout the book of John, 1 John, and Revelation. J

Is Jesus God? Part 12: General Questions & Helpful Diagram
General Questions: 1. If Jesus is God, why didn’t God say plainly in His Word that Jesus was God the Son? Why does He give all male believers the same title as Jesus, the son of God? God’s intent is never to confuse or distort truth. Given that “God the Son” is not written in the Bible, Jesus is not God the Son. As the Son of God, Jesus opened the way for all believers to become exactly like Jesus one day, conformed to his image. One way God reveals this in His Word is b

If Jesus is not God, should Christians pray to Jesus? What does the Bible say? What about knowing Christ? How can we know him personally if he is not omnipresent and omniscient? First, in terms of Christians having a “personal relationship with Christ” or “accepting Jesus into our hearts”, that terminology is never used in the Bible. However, Christians are directed to “know Christ”. But what does that mean? Paul says in Philippians 3:8-11, 8 “What is more, I consider everyth
